Republishing UAE Forever Cartoons

It was back in 1996 when I first had the idea of posting cartoons about the UAE online. I worked with my friend Tariq Alshemmari on this interesting project and quickly it became very popular. We named it (UAE Forever Cartoons). I remember how I used to spend long time discussing cartoons ideas and making sketches. Later I take the drawings from Tariq, scan them in GIF format using college scanner.

I closed my old site (UAE Forever) about 7 years ago but I still have it saved in my hard drive. Just yesterday it came to my mind the idea of republishing the cartoons for the sake of celebrating the 10th anniversary of halting the work on (UAE Forever Cartoons). One main reason I stopped is the fact that I graduated from college and I did not have free time and interest to post more cartoons in the future. Another reason is that me and Tariq went on our separate ways and could not work close together as we used to.

Today I'm republishing (UAE Forever Cartoons) for the following reasons:

1. Mark the 10th anniversary of halting the work on (UAE Forever Cartoons).
2. Sharing my college memories with Tariq and all the fans who used to visit the site regularly.
3. Share my memories & "art" with my wife & kids.
   
4. Possibly adding more cartoons in the future, who knows.

I would like to thank all those who participated in making (UAE Forever Cartoons) a huge success ... and those people are:

• Khalid Alkendi (who used to mail his drawings to me from Australia to the United Stated)
• Dubai Roses.
• Dubai Moon.
• Nawaf Al Mahmood (my brother).
• Mohammed Sami (from Egypt who is now a very well known cartoonist)!
  

So enjoy our old college years memories ... I wish they can come back.
