Dubai Number Plate Sold For $850,000

A Dubai car plate number (E15) was sold in an auction held by Dubai Roads & Transport Authority for AED 3,120,000 (US $850,000). The owner of the plate number is Aqeel Saeed Abdulla, who also owns other special plate numbers such as (27, 68, 72, 234, 126, 127, 128)

The two digit number plate E-15 which had a reserve price of Dh 270,000 emerged the most expensive plate being bought at Dh 3.12 million by a Dubai businessman Aqeel Sayed Abdallah after a tense scramble for the same number by over fifteen bidders.

The two-hour bidding process raised a total of Dh 28,950,000 for RTA after all the numbers were sold out.

Highest bidders:

• E-15 emerged the most expensive at Dh 3.12 million which had a reserve price of Dh 270,000.
• F-30 at Dh 2.20 million with a reserve price of Dh 270,000.
• F-80 at Dh 1.69 million with a reserve price of Dh 270,000.
• F-70 at Dh 1.68 million with a reserve price of Dh 270,000.
• E-21 at Dh 1.75 million with a reserve price of Dh 250,000.
• E-31 at Dh 1.60 million with a reserve price of Dh 250,000.
  

The cheapest number is F-44440 which was sold at Dh 33,000 after a reserve price of Dh 10,000.
