Dekra D-Drive Bike: No Chains, No Derailleur, & No Sprocket! (Link)

Well, the idea of a bike without a chain may have seemed equally as revolutionary to some, but it is this concept that makes the Dekra D-Drive a truly innovative bike.
Dekra's D-Drive chainless drive system replaces the parts of a bike that cause the most problems – the chain and derailleur. By doing so, it also eliminates the grease, maintenance, torn clothing and other issues common with chain-driven bikes.
In addition to eliminating the fuss and mess of a chain, D-Drive provides other advantages over a chain that include:
The Dekra D-Drive uses a drive shaft to transmit power from the bike pedals to the rear wheel. This drive shaft employs a fully-enclosed bevel gear system made of a lightweight, yet highly durable, aluminum alloy. Shimano internal gears within the rear wheel enable the D-Drive system to deliver smooth, quiet performance while optimizing pedaling efficiency. A three-speed Shimano "twist and go" gear system provides easy, responsive gear shifting operated at the hand grip. So there's no more grasping for hard to reach gear shift levers!
It is available in two models for men and women each for (US $300).
